Bato-bato sa Langit...

"Reap what you sow."

I really find it funny when people expect more out of mediocrity.  How can one demand a high performance rating if all you did at work was attend meetings where you just sat in or went on field and got yourself a whole lot of new friends in Facebook?   How stupid can you get?  But then---stupid is what stupid does.  Tsk.  Tsk.  Tsk.

This goes the same when it comes to fatherhood.  How can you expect your children to love you when you did not give any?  How can you expect them to care for you when you just let them be on their own?  Your semen contribution does not give you that right.  "People forget what you say, they forget what you did, but they never forget how you made them feel."  The amount of quality time that you give your children is something that they will treasure forever.  The gall on the father who asks for love and care when he does not know how to give neither of both!

Bato-bato sa langit ang tamaan SAPUL!

When my wife and I got married 20 years ago, God blessed us with two children in the first 4 years of our life together, John Paul George aka Ringo and Francesca Camille. We thought that we already had a perfect set up---one boy and one girl. However, when our relationship matured, God was so happy he vested upon us what He did to Adam and Eve and said, "Go forth and MULTIPLY!" So 6 years after Chesca was born, my wife and I went into a reproductive overdrive from which were borne 4 more offsprings: Carl Joseph (1998), Gillian Colleen (2001), Timothy Allen (2006), and Justin (2008). It all happened so fast that they were there before I could say REPORDUCTIVE HEALTH! But God is really good because He did provide my family our basic needs when needed. Anyway...

My baby boy Ringo is now going on 20 years old and my baby girl, Chesca, is 18 years old today. How time flies, doesn't it? Before, I was only tossing the two of them in the air, now, if I attempt to do that I'd probably end up paralyzed...well actually, depending on what order I might just do that---if i toss Ringo first then I guess I'd be dead!-lol

Return of Investment

I attended my daughter Chesca's baccalaureate mass this morning and the presiding priest spoke about the hope each parent has of a bright future for their children. A step towards realizing this goal is to send their child to school. Now, this is a burden that all parents are willing to take. As I have told---and keep on telling---my children, "igagapang ko kayo na makapagtapos basta ayusin nyo lang ang pagaaral nyo!"

Whether we put our children to a private or public school, as parents, we have our own individual burden to take on to ensure that we are able to financially sustain our children's education. This is our investment and the return of which is to see our sons and daughters get a degree and make something out of their lives! However, we do not have a hold of life's circumstances. Our children need to see the value of this investment---this whole fuss about graduating from college and become successful professionals! They need to go beyond the "what my parents want" state of mind and think of education as an opportunity to grow wings and sore beyond the horizon! They need to see themselves beyond today and the vision should be a sunny day portrait!

I pray in behalf of all the parents whose sons and daughters are graduating (or have graduated) that God be always with them in their journey and that they be blessed with wisdom to make the right decision in all the crossroads they have to take.
