Solenn's album launch at SM City Fairview Annex this afternoon was supposed to start at 4pm but good sense told me to chill at Papa John's Pizza (which was just a table's view from the venue) to wait for the event to unfold.  By golly!  Me and my wife sure stretched eating that small pizza!  The program started a little more than 5pm but kudos to all of Solenn's loyal fan (mainly men) who patiently waited with all their gaze strained at the mall's rear entrance where she was expected to make her ingress.

Late may the event had been it was worth the wait!  Solenn captivated the crowd with songs from her album, mingled, waved, and gave away posters.  Other than that---she was a true sight to behold!  Man-oh-man, I just hope the pictures I took justifies how beautiful she is!

The Lone Ranger Re-make 2013

I was not aware that there's going to be a Lone Ranger Re-make in the making until I saw a picture with Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp playing his sidekick Tonto.  The film will be under Disney films and will be directed by Jerry Bruckheimer.  Tentative release date will be on May 2013.

I grew up watching The Lone Ranger TV series.  They were actually re-runs already since the airing of which was from 1949 to 1957 with Clayton Moore playing the Lone Ranger and Jay Silverheels as Tonto. 

The Lone Ranger's catchphrase was "Hi-yo, Silver! Away!" which he would say every time he galloped away with his white horse Silver.  Tonto referred to the Lone Ranger as "Ke-mo sah-bee" which means "trusty scout" or "trusted friend.  Other than these other Lone Ranger trademarks would be the silver bullets that he used and the William Tell Overture which became indelibly marked in the memories of the millions who came of age watching the TV series.  Believe it or not but The Lone Ranger re-runs were still being transmitted as of August 2010, sixty-one years after their initial broadcast.

I'm sure many are as curious as I am as to how Johnny Depp will play the role of Tonto.    Based on that head dress he's wearing I'm sure we'll all be in for a big surprise!

Is There a Need to Incentivize Initiative?

I'm sorry but I really need to vent this out.  

Apologies to my company's HR people.

Last Friday I attended an orientation about an HR program in the company I work for.  In a nut shell the idea is to spur individuals to think and possibly implement projects that will provide output in terms of  process improvement and cost savings.  Well, I must say the incentives is very enticing and I'm sure many will try to vie for the various award categories that would give away gift certificates and domestic tours.  However, I do believe this is being done for the wrong reasons.  

We should always provide VALUE in our work.  Without value we become expendable.  That's what I learned from the bosses that I have had.  But come to think of it this has been the company direction ever since my time as a service crew---ALWAYS GO BEYOND WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM YOU.  During that time the mind set was that we own the company.  I guess I still have that same mind set as of today which is why I have difficulty subscribing to the idea of incentivizing what I feel like PART OF THE JOB.  What ever happened to "all for the love of the company"?  

As a manager,  I also try to imbibe the same philosophy to my people.  This is even before this project was hatched.  As a reward, I placed process improvement and cost savings initiatives as part of the performance appraisal.  But what I want my people to really understand and appreciate is that in each semester that passes we contribute something extra to our company.  That we have VALUE.  And we do not do this all for the love of the company.

Talk about going beyond the call of duty!

Daiana Menezes continues to surprise me.  For a woman of her stature she sure knows how to have fun---even at her expense!  I guess she's just living up to her aspiration to establishing herself as a sexy comediane.   But Daiana's life is not centered on herself and her success.  She is a loyal friend with a heart so kind that when a fan seeks assistance for a school assignment she goes beyond her busy schedule to lend a helping hand!  

Daiana and my wife's nephew Mark some two years ago at a fan's day and have become close ever since.  I also met Daiana during this time which I wrote about in another blog http://nonomaca.blogspot.com/2011/04/daiana-menezes-beautiful-lady-with.html.  Me and my wife met with Mark's mom yesterday and she told us how Daiana helped Mark with his project.  This was all in my imagination until Mark shared the video on my Facebook wall this morning.  It really made my day so much that I just had to write this blog entry.  

I know of some famous people who would charge for their autograph not knowing that it is the fans that are giving them their business but Daiana is a different breed of celebrity.  No wonder she is so blessed with so many gigs.

Scarlett Johansson got the part of Black Widow in the movie rendition which we first saw in Iron Man 2 and now in the upcoming Avengers Movie.

The role sure fit her to the T---including that skin-tight costume!  I'm sure many of you has been imagining what's underneath all that fiber.  Well, fret no more!  Here's the latest sighting of Ms. Johansson in a two piece bikini!
