Just Wondering...

After the outpouring of public sympathy in the passing of the Philippines' Comedy King it makes you wonder how the turnout will be when life's curtain  finally go down on yours.  I guess it all boils down to how many lives you've positively touched in your lifetime.  

People don't forget how you made them feel.  It is also important to pay it forward.  We have all been in tight situations before and hardships that we needed help financially, emotionally, and spiritually.  Give when the opportunity presents itself.  Giving a piece of your mind or lending an ear to someone else's problems goes a long way.  

So, have you lived a life worth remembering?

An Icon Passes Away

Rodolfo Vera Quizon in real life, Dolphy made us laugh and cry for 68 years.  I grew up watching John and Marsha in the 70's and Home Along the Riles in the 90's.  I also got the chance to watch re-runs of his movies tuning on to Piling Piling Pelikula in the now defunct Channel 9.  I remember laughing my heart out watching Dolphy play Agent 1-2-3 in Dolpinger (a comedy spoof of the Bond movie Goldfinger).  He is hailed as the Philippines' "King of Comedy" for his comedic talent and has put his stamp on film, radio, TV, and theater.


He has lived a long ripe age of 83 and hes has nothing else to aim for.  In his 2009 interview with Jessica Soho he said that he already bought himself a casket knowing that at his age he will be called to meet his Maker anytime.   


Death will not be the end of Dolphy's legend for he left behind a legacy of work that we can always go back to and watch anytime.


A National Artist Award for Dolphy?  That question should not even be asked---it is a given.
