You Don't Have to Go Through it You Know

"Good judgement comes from experience and a lot of them comes from bad judgement."---Arthur Bishop (The Mechanic)

I know I sound like a broken record but there is no skirting the fact that experience is the best teacher.  Why do you think that the cliche "learn from history" is so damned...CLICHE?  What I don't understand is that why is there a need to go through the same mistakes that others did?  Will personal experience make it more meaningful?

Imagine that you're walking in line when the second person ahead of you trips on a wire and falls on his face.  The person in front of you, caught by surprise, reacts slowly and trips on the same wire.  Well, being the third person in line, for you to trip on that wire would be utter STUPIDITY!

Thinking of this, I'm reminded of an episode of "Maynila" being shown during a bus ride some two weeks ago.  Boyfriend and girlfriend elopes.  Everything was spontaneous.  They said they love each other and want to spend their lives together forever.  They were suppose to hitch a ride with some friends, unfortunately, said friends got caught up in their own personal matters and did not arrive as expected.  What's hilarious is that these two lovebirds did not have any money between the two of them.  They are lost as to what to do next and almost end up being preyed upon by bad elements.  Moral of the story:  LOVE alone cannot guarantee survival.  As the old folks would say, "di mo makakain ang pag-ibig".  Giving in to your emotion can have disastrous consequences.  Think first before you act and for God's sake listen to those who've gone on the road ahead of you!
